Mr. Reguraj was born on 6th Aug. 1942, at Courtallam, Tamilnadu, as a worthy Son of an illustrious Father (Late) Shri. K. Namasivayam, most respected Chief Engineer of the State Housing Board, Chennai:
Mr. N. Reguraj, is a BE Mech. Engineer, and started his career as a Graduate Engineer in (TANSI) – Government Tool Room in Chennai, Tamilnadu from 1963-1967. During the above period, he was an under-study to an American Expert specializing in Press Tools. Later, joined National Carbon Company, a Division of Union Carbide as Tool Room Incharge.
His career in NTTF started in the year 1967 and continues till date. NTTF is an ISO-9001 and EOHS Certified Training Institution. A premier Institution dedicated to promote Vocational Education and training, providing hands-on practical training ensuring that the students are readily employable.
It is Mr. Reguraj who visualized the key role of NTTF in propagating the knowledge and skill of tool and die making in the Country and as a consequence under his visionary Leadership, NTTF which started off at a small Training Centre in a remote corner of Kerala, as a single location, single discipline, has today grown into a multi-location, multi-discipline and multi-functional 0rganisation operating around Seventeen Centers throughout India with more than10,000 Diploma Students and 150 Post Graduate Students. “NTTF is an Institution of Excellence”
Today, NTTF trainees are its Ambassadors all over the World occupying key positions, be it Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.
Mr. Reguraj has encouraged various Institutions to run similar Diploma or Certificate courses under NTTF’s supervision and affiliation to NTTF.

In a nutshell, NTTF’s motto is to create and build Vocational employability in India for the youth.
Mr. Reguraj’s contribution to the Industrial growth led to the establishment of Two Manufacturing Units located at Bangalore and Vellore in Tamilnadu. These Units were specialized in providing basic manufacturing support to any Engineering Industry as a One-Stop-Shop.
His ardent and untiring services towards the growth of the Institution attracted the attention of Multi-nationals and Foreign Companies for Equity Participation with NTTF.
Mr. Reguraj, was instrumental in establishing NTTF as an Industry too and formed the following Joint Ventures with:
1. United Technologies Automotive, USA, a division of United Technologies for Electrical Switches.
2. Varelco, UK , for manufacture of electronic connectors.
3. Aisin Seiki Co., Japan – Body Division, for manufacture of Window Regulators, Door Latches, etc.,
4. KOSTAL, Germany, for manufacture of Electrical/electronic switches for automobiles.
Recently, NTTF has withdrawn all its investments in the Joint Ventures and concentrates on its key result areas on Vocational Training.
Mr. Reguraj is a recipient of President’s Award as Outstanding Employer of the Physically Challenged people. NTTF was picked up by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) to be the recipient for having developed indigenous technology for an import substitution product “Fuse & Junction Box” used on Maruti Esteem Car.

Mr. Reguraj has also served on various National Governmental Bodies related to Upgradation of Tool Room Technology.
Initiated many novel ideas in vocational education and continues to do so.
All these achievements are the fruits borne out of the untiring efforts of this Mechanical Engineer. His contribution to the field of Training, Engineering Technology and Industrial Development and Vocational Education leading to employability, is very noteworthy.
