G Rajendran

G Rajendran  has 24 yrs of experience in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) branch of Indian Air Force (IAF) in Operations, Maintenance & amp;Training environments. This was followed by a short stint with a leading Non-banking Financial Company (NBFC) as a regional manager.

Rajendran holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Mysore University (Nov 1988). He also participated in a certificate course in Business Management from IIM, Indore (Feb 2014).

Operations & Maintenance experience in the IAF was primarily related to airfield communication, radio & radar based navigational systems and airfield electrical systems. He was closely involved with Surveillance Radar Element (SRE)& Precision Approach Radars (PAR) at premium air bases of the IAF. He was also associated with ‘mission critical’ Airfield communications, ground-to-air communications, Radio & Radar beacons, airfield lighting systems (AFLS), etc. of a typical air force base/station.

He was a core member of experts in Ground Control Radars and airfield navigation, communication & electrical equipment and has under taken major overhauls/servicing of Ground Control Radars across IAF bases in the country. He has also headed teams for involving major breakdowns & scheduled major servicing of other Radio/Radar based airfield navigational aids.

Rajendran also servedin the ‘Signal Intelligence’ fraternity posted along border locations of the country, involved in study of the aerospace related activities of  neighbouring countries.

In the course of his training tenure he was a senior instructor for Ground Control & Approach (GCA) radars in particular and other radio/radar airfield navigational equipment like Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) systems, etc. Rajendran was also Chief Instructor of the training faculty for ‘ab-initio’ technicians &supervisors of radio and radar related trades in the IAF.

Rajendran is presently the Manager (Training & Industry Engagement) of Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC). He is responsible for engaging the industry in skill development and training delivery process. He is also responsible for coordinating with training providers/academic institutions for curriculum development &updation aligned to the  National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
