(ToT). The objective of ToT program was to equip participants with the skills to design and deliver short training sessions and become an
effective trainer. 22 Trainers were trained.

 1321 to 23 Jun 18World Skills India Regional (South) competition in ‘Aircraft Maintenance’ skills was conducted at M/s VSM Institute of Aerospace
Engineering & Technology, out of more than 1000 candidates candidates 12 shortlisted youth from all over India participated in the
competitions. 6 candidates were shortlisted for the finals (National level) to be conducted in New Delhi during Sep 2018.
Mr. Punneth GS (HAL) and Ms. Archana K Y (VSM Institute of Aerospace engineering Technology) were awarded the winner &
runner-up candidates for the Regional competitions.
 1415 Jul 18Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) & SkillSonics deliberated on specific programs related to skill development in the
Aerospace & Aviation sector. An MoU also was signed. SkillSonics India Pvt Ltd implements customized Swiss vocational and education
training programs adapted to India at companies and training institutes.

Nationals at New Delhi. Gold was won by Archana K Y, Silver by Sri Ganesha Ananda and bronze by Puneeth G S & Rahul
Jayaprakash(jointly).

2001 Jun 19The Centre of Excellence for Aerospace Manufacturing & Assembly & Design was inaugurated in the CSIR-NAL premises. Initially, the
Centre will offer 5-6 job roles in the Aerospace Manufacturing and Design sub-sectors. The course duration ranges from 4 weeks to 4
months, with an anticipated intake of 150 trainees during the first year. CSIR-NAL’s initiative will give a big boost to the Skill
Development Mission of the Government of India under NSDC. This Centre will offer a number of skill development and skill upgradation
courses in partnership with the Aviation and Aerospace Sector Skill Council (AASSC) to the ITI and Diploma qualified youth, in addition to industry workers.
2107 Jun 19Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme commenced for Indian Navy personnel for 3 Aviation Job Roles. The assessments are
being facilitated IL&FS Skills for 472 candidates for 3 Job Roles of Aircraft Powerplant Technician, Aircraft Instrument Technician &
Airline Security Executive. The assessments are planned until Sep 2019 for the personnel. The first of the assessments was conducted for Aircraft Powerplant Technician Job Role.
2212 Jun 19A pilot project proposal for RPL programme at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd , Bangalore was submitted to NSDC. The RPL programme is for
230 candidates for implementation was approved today. The Job Roles of AASSC for certification through this programme are

2305 Jul 19AASSC in association with DFID-UK, NSDC & KPMG organised a workshop for promoting the National Apprenticeship Promotion
Scheme (NAPS) at ITC Windsor in Bangalore . The workshop was aimed at the industry participants specifically from the Aerospace &
Aviation domain. The event witnessed good participation from the industry and useful interactions. Chetan. S, Manager -SAC from
AASSC briefed the audience about the role of the SSC in the implementation of NAPS
2415 Jul 19GKN Aerospace India has sponsored a CSR program to train 10 bright & young engineering graduates on Aerospace Design & Analysis as
per framework developed by #AASSC. The program is being carried out by BridgeNow Academy, a P3 Group initiative, at Bangalore
location. The duration of the program is 16 weeks, where in the Trainees would gain in-depth domain knowledge of Aircraft systems
and undergo hands-on training in Aerostructure design & analysis using CAD & CAE software. Post completion of the training, the
trainees would undergo evaluation by BridgeNow Academy and assessment under norms specified by AASSC.
2515 Jul 19A Training of Trainers(ToT) Programme commenced in Delhi from the 15th July 2019 for Unique Foundation and it’s training centers are
planning to skill candidates under the PMKVY schemes across its centers in aviation job roles. This ToT programme was also organised
in Delhi for 20 trainers, who took part in the 5 day programme. Mr Bhargava Ramanna, a Master Trainer associated with AASSC
conducted this programme.
2615 Jul 19The Training of Trainer Program conducted by AASSC commenced at Jet Serve Aviation Pvt. Ltd (Training Partner), West Delhi. today. The
program focuses on Platform Skills required to be a good trainer. 10 participants from the Training Partner are taking part in this 5-day
programme. A Master Trainer, Rinaldo Rhine associated with AASSC conducted the training.
2715 Jul 19A stakeholder meeting for the approval of Job Roles to be considered for approval by NSDA was held in Delhi. 9 of the 10 Job Roles of
AASSC will be considered for approval by NSDA in the upcoming NSQC meeting for approval.
2817 Jul 19AASSC and Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI) held a meeting at the Bangalore International Airport Ltd today. ACFI was represented by
Mr Tushar Jani, Chairman , ACFI and other senior officials of ACFI. Mr Tushar Jani, is the founder of Blue Dart Aviation Ltd. AASSC was
represented by Mr D Peter Immanuel CEO, AASSC and Mr Chetan S, Manager- SAC, AASSC.
2920 Jul 19AASSC and ACFI (Air Cargo Forum India) signed an MoU at Delhi. The MoU was signed for making efforts to ensure the availability of skilled
manpower in the AirCargo segment of the aviation industry. The Air Cargo domain represents a significant share in terms of jobs in the
Airport, Cargo & Ground Handling subsector. The MoU was signed on the occasion of the AGM of the ACFI in Delhi. Mr Tushar Jani,
President, ACFI and Mr Chetan S, Manager-SAC, AASSC signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
3022 Jul 19A Training of Trainers(ToT) Programme commenced in Bangalore. This ToT programme was organised for 14 trainers, who are taking
part in the 5 day programme. Ms Divya, a Master Trainer associated with AASSC conducted this programme. Trainers from Madras Flying
Club, RedBird Aviation and other training partners are taking in the programme.
3113 Aug 2019A meeting was held at TATA Advanced Materials Ltd (TAML) to explore various ways of engagement. TAML was represented by Madhu Sudana Sankar, Senior Manager and Mr Chetan S represented AASSC. TAML employs more than 500 skilled engineers and operators. TAML manufactures Composite Parts for Space Applications, Structural Components, Engine Components, Personal and Vehicle Armour and various other Industrial Applications for various OEMs and Tier 1s in the Aerospace & Defense domain. During the meeting, the importance of the skilled and trained manpower for the aerospace subsector, to enhance the productivity of the companies was emphasized.

3317 Sep 2019NSDC has designed “Skills Fund” has been designed to establish a public private partnership mechanism that brings together all stakeholders with the shared vision of improving outcomes of the skill development initiatives in India. This project is a key component of the World Bank funded “SANKALP” programme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. A preliminary discussion on broad contours of Skill Fund was held on the 17th Sep 2019 in Delhi as a part of the SANKALP initiative. The event also witnessed participation from the other Aerospace & Aviation stakeholders. Proposals submitted for skill development will be evaluated for funding under this initiative. Chetan S of AASSC took part in this discussion.

3610 Oct 2019Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI) invited AASSC for the 7th meeting of ACFI task Pillar “Skill Development” at New Delhi. Discussion were held for the engagement with AASSC on Recognition of prior learning (RPL) to assess the existing knowledge, skills and experience of CTOs employees against a nationally recognized qualification pack (QP) for providing Government recognized NSQF certificate to deserving employees. Chetan S represented AASSC for the discussions with ACFI and its member companies.

One such programme would be the launch of BMS (in Aviation Cargo). A Meeting to review the Curriculum developed for BMS (Aviation & Air Cargo) Degree Programme was conducted in Chennai. 328 Jan 2020A meeting was held at Ministry of Civil Aviation under the chairmanship of Secretary, MoCA to enhance the skill ecosystem for all aviation related job-roles to AASSC. Other SSCs like RASCI, THSC and LSSC were also a part of the discussions. An Aviation Skill Task Force (ASTF) was formed to be driven by Dr KP Krishnan, Sr Advisor on Skill Development at MoCA. Rachit Bhatnagar represented AASSC.
405 to 08 Feb 2020AASSC participated at DefExpo2020 INDIA Show at Lucknow, UP and set up a stall represented by Chetan S & Rachit Bhatnagar to create awareness among companies for Aerospace & Defence skilling.

 

AASSC and NSDC jointly organized a Seminar and panel discussion on skill development in Aerospace, Aviation & Defence at this show. Rachit Bhatnagar presented an overview of AASSC activities during this seminar.

511 to 15 Feb 2020A Training of Trainer (ToT) Program for Airline Cabin Crew was conducted at Jettwings School of Aviation (a Training Partner at Guwahati, Assam). The program was inaugurated by Rachit Bhatnagar along with senior officials from Jettwings and ASDM. 28 trainers from especially NE region TPs were trained.

 

The opportunity was seized to visit 3 more TPs and North East Skill Center established at ASDM building at Guwahati.

617 to 21 Feb 2020AASSC and DFID (Department for International Development, UK) jointly organised a Training of Trainer (ToT) Program for Airline Customer Service Executive & Airline Cabin Crew at Bengaluru. The program was inaugurated by Mr Sandeep Patnaik, GM-HR of HAL Helicopter Complex. 13 trainers from pan- India TPs were trained.

904 Mar 2020AASSC & BIAL organised a joint workshop on NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) at Bengaluru International Airport. Workshop was conducted by officials from NSDC. Many key stakeholders in aviation field and a TPA rep also attended the workshop.
