Initially, the Centre will offer 5-6 job roles in the Aerospace Manufacturing and Design sub-sectors. The course duration ranges from 4 weeks to 4 months, with an anticipated intake of 150 trainees during the first year. CSIR-NAL’s initiative will give a big boost to the Skill Development Mission of the Government of India under NSDC. This Centre will offer a number of skill development and skill upgradation courses in partnership with the Aviation and Aerospace Sector Skill Council (AASSC) to the ITI and Diploma qualified youth, in addition to industry workers. |

| 24 | 15 Jul 19 | GKN Aerospace India has sponsored a CSR program to train 10 bright & young engineering graduates on Aerospace Design & Analysis as per framework developed by #AASSC. The program is being carried out by BridgeNow Academy, a P3 Group initiative, at Bangalore location. The duration of the program is 16 weeks, where in the Trainees would gain in-depth domain knowledge of Aircraft systems and undergo hands-on training in Aerostructure design & analysis using CAD & CAE software. Post completion of the training, the trainees would undergo evaluation by BridgeNow Academy and assessment under norms specified by AASSC. |

The MoU was signed for making efforts to ensure the availability of skilled manpower in the AirCargo segment of the aviation industry. TAML was represented by Madhu Sudana Sankar, Senior Manager and Mr Chetan S represented AASSC. TAML employs more than 500 skilled engineers and operators. TAML manufactures Composite Parts for Space Applications, Structural Components, Engine Components, Personal and Vehicle Armour and various other Industrial Applications for various OEMs and Tier 1s in the Aerospace & Defense domain. During the meeting, the importance of the skilled and trained manpower for the aerospace subsector, to enhance the productivity of the companies was emphasized. |

This project is a key component of the World Bank funded “SANKALP” programme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. A preliminary discussion on broad contours of Skill Fund was held on the 17th Sep 2019 in Delhi as a part of the SANKALP initiative. AASSC and NSDC jointly organized a Seminar and panel discussion on skill development in Aerospace, Aviation & Defence at this show. Rachit Bhatnagar presented an overview of AASSC activities during this seminar. |
| 5 | 11 to 15 Feb 2020 | A Training of Trainer (ToT) Program for Airline Cabin Crew was conducted at Jettwings School of Aviation (a Training Partner at Guwahati, Assam). The program was inaugurated by Rachit Bhatnagar along with senior officials from Jettwings and ASDM. 28 trainers from especially NE region TPs were trained.
The opportunity was seized to visit 3 more TPs and North East Skill Center established at ASDM building at Guwahati. |
